No Cooking Clue is operated by Techtix (“Techtix”, “we”, “us” or “our”). This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information when you visit No Cooking Clue, contact us or subscribe to our newsletter.
1. Who we are
Techtix operates from:
Canada
31-33922 King Road
Abbotsford, British Columbia V2S 7N1
Canada
Privacy contact: legal@techtixlabs.co.uk
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:
- Newsletter information: your email address, subscription status and evidence of consent, such as the date and time of signup and confirmation.
- Correspondence: information you provide when you email or otherwise contact us.
- Technical and security information: an IP address, browser or device information, request time and diagnostic or security logs generated by WordPress, our hosting provider or security systems.
We do not intentionally collect payment information, create visitor accounts, offer public comments, or use advertising or behavioural analytics on the site.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- send the newsletter and administer subscriptions;
- record and demonstrate newsletter consent;
- answer questions and correspondence;
- operate, secure, maintain and troubleshoot the site;
- prevent misuse, spam, fraud and security incidents; and
- comply with legal obligations and establish or defend legal claims.
4. Our legal grounds
For people in the United Kingdom, we rely on:
- Consent for email newsletter subscriptions. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests in operating and protecting a useful, secure website, responding to communications and preventing misuse, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligations where applicable.
For people in Canada, we collect, use and disclose personal information with meaningful consent or as otherwise permitted by applicable privacy law, including British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act and, where applicable, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act.
5. Newsletter and Brevo
We use Brevo to manage newsletter contacts, confirmation emails, campaigns and unsubscribes. When you subscribe, your email address and subscription information are sent to Brevo. We use a double opt-in process where enabled, which means you must click a confirmation link before being added to the mailing list.
Every marketing newsletter should contain a clear unsubscribe link. We may retain limited suppression information after an unsubscribe so that we can honour your request and avoid contacting you again.
6. Children
Children may browse and use recipes with appropriate adult supervision. However, children under 13 must not submit personal information, contact us independently or subscribe to the newsletter themselves. A parent or legal guardian may subscribe using the adult’s own email address.
If we learn that we collected personal information directly from a child under 13 without appropriate parental or guardian authorisation, we will delete it or take other appropriate steps. A parent or guardian can contact us at legal@techtixlabs.co.uk.
7. Who receives information
We may disclose information only as reasonably necessary to:
- Brevo, which provides newsletter and email services;
- our website hosting, security, backup and technical service providers;
- professional advisers where necessary;
- courts, regulators, law enforcement or other authorities where required or permitted by law; and
- a successor if the site or relevant business assets are reorganised or transferred, subject to applicable safeguards.
The theme may request fonts from Google Fonts. This can disclose technical connection data, such as an IP address and browser information, to Google. We recommend replacing remote fonts with locally hosted font files if you want to avoid that connection.
We do not sell personal information.
8. International processing
We operate in the United Kingdom and Canada and use service providers that may process information in other countries. Where data protection law requires it, we use appropriate contractual or legal safeguards for international transfers. Privacy rights and government-access rules may differ between countries.
9. Retention
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above:
- newsletter information is generally retained while you remain subscribed;
- minimal unsubscribe or suppression records may be retained to honour opt-out requests and demonstrate compliance;
- correspondence is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to answer the matter and maintain appropriate records; and
- technical logs are retained according to operational, security and hosting requirements.
We may retain information longer where required by law or necessary for legal claims.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No online service or transmission method is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live and the applicable law, you may have rights to request access to or correction of your personal information, request deletion or restriction, object to certain uses, receive portable data, withdraw consent, or complain about our handling of your information.
You can unsubscribe from newsletters using the link in any newsletter. To exercise another privacy right, contact legal@techtixlabs.co.uk. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
12. Complaints
Please contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern.
- UK users may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
- Canadian users may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
- British Columbia users may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy with a new “Last updated” date and provide additional notice where appropriate.
